Job Type: Seasonal (ASAP– October), Part Time (2-4 days/week)

 

Start & End Dates: As soon as possible – October 28, 2022

 

Starting Pay: $20-$25/hour depending on experience & skill level.

There will be a 30-day probationary period with the pay rate at $20/hour depending on your experience, skill level, and professionalism.

 

Schedule: Monday - Thursday; Two to Four days a week. We aim to give you as many hours as possible. Please note that this business is open to emergency jobs, so it is important to be as flexible as possible during emergency situations.

 

Experience: 1+ years as a groundsman for a tree service company preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities for this groundsman position include, but are not limited to:

  • Knows and practices basic knowledge of safety procedures on a jobsite.

  • Can operate chainsaws, mechanical trailers, stump grinders, brush chippers, tractors, trucks, and other equipment and tools.

  • Clean, sharpen, and lubricate saws, tools and equipment.

  • Operate shredding and chipping equipment, and feed limbs and brush into the machines independently and as a team.

  • Load debris and refuse onto trailers/trucks and haul it away for disposal.

  • Collect debris and refuse from tree trimming and removal operations into piles, using hands, shovels, rakes or other tools.

  • Split logs by hand or with a log splitter.

  • Tie necessary knots for use on the jobsite (Bowline, Running bowline, Blake hitch, Deadeye tugboat Bowline, figure 8, hitches, etc.)

  • Checking the loadout of tools and equipment in the morning before leaving the shop, and making sure that all tools and equipment are loaded before leaving the jobsite.

 

Qualifications:

  • Lift heavy objects over 50 pounds (such as dragging brush, carrying logs, lifting equipment.)

  • Able to safely operate a chainsaw under stressful, fast paced conditions while being exposed to the weather outdoors.

  • Positive attitude every day is a must have. Highly motivated, with focus on jobsite safety and excellent customer service.

  • Work and maneuver at varying heights under sometimes adverse weather conditions.

  • Punctual and professional.

  • Can pass a random drug test.
